Trinity Church is a bible-based, non-denominational church located in Lubbock, Texas.

We are a group of people from a variety of backgrounds that are discovering God, growing together in community, and discovering the purpose God has for our lives.

The mission of Trinity is to cultivate a love for God by creating opportunities (through evangelism, worship, discipleship, community, and service) to know, trust, and obey Him.

At Trinity, our core values are what bind us together as a church family and remind us where to focus our energy and resources.

God's Word

The Bible is God’s infallible word, inspired by the Holy Spirit, inerrant in the original manuscripts. Through the redemptive narrative, God reveals His nature, character, and intentions. As the source of all truth, the Scriptures allow believers, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to measure all things according to God’s good and perfect decrees. Scripture communicates God’s wisdom and instruction for living a holy life built upon a sure foundation. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; Numbers 23:19; Psalm 12:6; 1 Corinthians 2:12-16; Hebrews 6:18; John 14:26; Matthew 7:24

Trinity Church will:

  • Faithfully and boldly proclaim, uphold, and apply timeless truths revealed in Scripture.
  • Embrace a biblical worldview and conform to God’s standards that are often in conflict with a fallen culture.
  • Invite the Holy Spirit to bring revelation of Scripture and guide our understanding.
  • Order and structure all things according to biblical wisdom.
  • Provide opportunities to hear the preaching of God’s Word.
  • Equip and encourage individuals to personally and regularly study the Bible.

Spiritual Authority

The Church is an institution ordained by God and headed by Jesus Christ, and all believers operate under an umbrella of protection that is provided by their spiritual authority in the context of their local church body. At Trinity, that line of spiritual authority originates with Jesus Christ (the ultimate authority) and disseminates through the Board of Elders and the Senior Pastor. Trinity Church is an elder governed, Senior Pastor led, staff and volunteer run church. Proverbs 12:1; 1 Corinthians 5; Matthew 18; Romans 13; 1 Peter 2:13-14; 1 Peter 5:5; 1 Timothy 1-2; Romans 12:2; Acts 4:19; Ephesians 5 & 6; Romans 13:1-6; Hebrews 13:17

Trinity Church will:

  • Recognize God’s word, the Bible, as the ultimate authority.
  • Submit to the authority of the Senior Pastor, recognizing his leadership over the staff.
  • Honor and respect the Board of Elders as the governing body of Trinity Church.
  • Continually pray for those that are placed in a position of authority.
  • Support the authority structure for Christian households outlined in Ephesians 5 & 6.
  • Cooperate with local authority figures and obey local, state, and federal laws of the land to the extent that they do not conflict with God’s laws.

The Church is built upon the two greatest commandments, to love God and to love people, and love for one another is the primary hallmark of disciples. Matthew 22:36-40; John 13:34-35; Matthew 16:24; Ephesians 4:2-6; 1 Corinthians 1:10; Proverbs 18:24; 3 John 1:15; Romans 12:10

Trinity Church will:

  • Offer opportunities for members to experience relational discipleship in smaller group settings.
  • Emphasize the importance of building transparent and authentic friendships with genuine love and respect, for all people through and in Jesus Christ.

  • Be accountable by establishing clear expectations and be responsible for our actions, behaviors, decisions, and performance.
  • Cultivate an environment of safety and vulnerability among our staff that creates a sense of belonging and courageous honesty.

The family is the God ordained and defined foundational unit of society that is the training ground for preparing future generations to know and serve Jesus Christ. Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:15-33, 6:1-4; Colossians 3:18-21; Proverbs 22:6; Psalms 127:3-5; Deuteronomy 6; 1 Corinthians 7:8, 32

Stewardship is the intentional and responsible management and development of all that God has provided to Trinity. It is the use of time, talent, and treasure for God’s Kingdom. Luke 16:10-13; 1 Peter 4:10-11

Trinity Church will:

Kingdom Perspective

The work of Trinity takes place within the context of the broader Kingdom of God, and, as a result, we embrace the view that there is no such thing as a secular/sacred divide - all of life, including education and vocation is a part of the sacred calling of a believer.
